Emergency Contraception
Emergency Contraception (EC) is a pill intended for use “in case of emergency” when you don’t want to get pregnant after unprotected sex. If you’ve had unprotected sex in the past 5 days and desire EC – or, if you’d like to to keep some on hand ‘just in case’ – Choix can provide you with a same-day prescription.
You submit a 2-5-minute questionnaire and if you’ve reached out by 4:30 PST, we’ll be in touch the same day via text. We will review your medical history, and a provider will check in with you via text to confirm information. If no additional steps are required, medications can be picked up at your local pharmacy or will be shipped by our partner pharmacy, and the Choix team will be on hand to help you along the way. If it’s after 4:30 pm, don’t worry! We’ll see it first thing in the morning.
$15 consultation fee for same-day emergency contraception + costs for contraception itself. Please note that the cost of medication depends on the pharmacy you use and whether or not you use insurance.
You are 13-49 years old, and in the states of California, Colorado, Illinois, Maine, New Mexico or Virginia.
Submit the questionnaire and $15 consultation fee here. You will need
-
Your height and weight measurements
-
Payment information ($15 consultation fee)
-
Photo ID and a clear selfie for purposes of identification
Once we have your info, a member of the Choix team will get in touch with you soon.
-
Emergency contraception is NOT the same as an abortion pill — it won’t end/harm an existing pregnancy.
-
Side effects of EC are usually mild and go away pretty quickly.
-
We offer two types of EC via medicine, one made of levonorgestrel, one made of ulipristal acetate.
